We need your help!

We are helping a charity called Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, who help children all around the world have a slightly better Christmas. Their Christmas project is known as the shoebox appeal, in which they ask the public to donate a shoebox full of various gifts, both toys and toiletries. So we are asking for you to pack a shoebox and bring it to the Foresters. You can pick up a leaflet from the pub which provides all the details of the project, what to put in your shoebox and the stickers to place on your shoebox. The cut off date for this is Sunday 25th November, so we only have a week to collect as many shoeboxes as possible. Below is a list of items you may want to put in your shoebox.

  • A small puzzle
  • Cuddly Toy
  • Skipping robe
  • Yo-Yo
  • Toy truck
  • Pens/ pencils
  • Sharpeners/ Erasers
  • Paper
  • Notepads
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Wrapped soap
  • Hairbrush
  • Flannel
  • Hat
  • Gloves
  • Hair accessories
  • Sweets (best before at least March of the following year)

(Please note all items should be new for hygiene purposes)

A suggested donation of £5 is asked for each shoebox filled. This cost covers of shipping and other essential project costs. So please next time you are at the supermarket, please pick up a few bits and make a gift for a child who won’t otherwise receive a gift on Christmas day. Remember the cut off date is Sunday 25th November.

Thank you in advance!
